Dr. Mark Rushton received his Doctorage in 2010 from the Autonomous University of Zacatecas, Mexico. He holds a Master’s in International Development Studies from Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, Canada.
His background lies in the areas of print and broadcast media, sociology, globalization, cross-cultural programming for youth, information and communication technologies (ICTs). He has managed and directed projects, organized conferences, and worked with youth in various community development organizations.
His key areas of research include: Human Development, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and Nanotechnology and Society.
He has publications in the fields of sociology and development, and the development of nanotechnology in Latin America.
He has gained international experience in Cuba, Jamaica, the Caribbean and Latin America in general, via projects and non-profit organizations (NGOs).
He has served as Director, webmaster and volunteer member of the Nova Scotia-Cuba Association (NSCUBA); webmaster for the Critical Development Studies Network (CDS).
